The University of Tartu Botanical Gardens was founded in 1803. The founder and first manager of the botanical gardens was professor G. A. Germann. He brought the gardens to it’s current place in 1806. Read more about our history here.
In our botanical garden there are four greenhouses with different growth conditions: palm house, subtropical house, tropical house and succulents room. Read more about them here.
